37 EVENTS IN 2022!

This page will tell you all you need to know for a GTB Regional.

*NEW* CHAMPION DANCER

Your favourite solo. Can be a repeat dance, can be a brand new dance. This section will have a big sponsor prizes and dancers will be featured on social media.

*NEW* AGE AGGREGATE CHAMPION

If you compete in 3 or more solos at the regional you are in the running to be the age aggregate champion. There is no additional fee for this, we simply work it out based on a point system for each place you get. 1st = 3pts, 2nd = 2pts, 3rd = 1pt. Again, you must compete in at least 3 solo sections to be considered for this.

MR + MISS GTB ENTERTAINMENT

Were you born to entertain?? Then this section is for you! 100% about entertainment, bring your best acting and performance skills to a regional! You can repeat a dance here.

This section is only for Solo styles  - Musical Theatre, Broadway Jazz, Jazz, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Song + Dance, Tap

MY FIRST SOLO

Will this be your very first solo on a stage at any competition? we have a section for you!!

You can even compete in My First Solo plus the regular sections with the same dance :)

Remember this must be your first solo at any competition, not just GTB.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Dancers can only compete in their own home State Championships. Studios on the border of QLD/NSW can compete in either NSW or QLD State Champs (Tweed, Lismore, Ballina, Byron Bay areas etc.) Qualify via GTB, Supreme or Online. You do not need to compete at States to compete at Finals, everyone needs to compete at a Regional or online event though.

State Championships will be for NSW, QLD and SA in 2022, see dates below. Qualify by scoring a Platinum or higher at a GTB Regional live event, GTB Online, or at a Supreme Dance Experience event (dancers must score a Silver score or higher)

GTB FINALS

Dancers can qualify for our Nationals, held on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in the September school holidays.

WORLD FINALS

Dancers can qualify for our World Finals in December 2022, held overseas, destination finalists at this stage are Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Kuala Lumpur.

REGO ADMIN FEE

This is compulsory for each dancer and covers all viewing, digital program production and delivery, public liability insurance, plus the increase in administration due to current global events. Please note this fee is non-refundable for such instances as "change of mind", "conflict of other events on at the time", "no show" etc - Injuries we can accommodate with transfers to other events

PROGRAM

Please ensure to check the program draft and make sure your child is in the correct age group (age is based on the start day of each regional for solos, duos, trios. Also check for spelling and correct styles. email audio@getthebeat.com.au if you see any issues.

 

MUSIC

We will ask for you to upload your music into your dropbox prior to each competition, an email will be sent 1-2 weeks before the start date once programs have been numbered. If you have entered multiple GTB Regionals you will need to do this for EACH regional as the competitor numbers will be different for each one. Your dropbox is the same folder you will receive your judges audio feedback once the competition is done. We will announce when we have sent these out and you will put your music in labelled the following way – ACT NUMBER-NAME-STYLE (eg 15-EBONY HART-JAZZ)

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

In the event of a Venue or Government directed cancellation of an event due to anything that affects the running of an event (eg COVID-19), Get the Beat will do the following:

1. The event will become an online event whereby each dancer will supply a video of each performance to be judged online with audio feedback and the same prizes we would have handed out, mailed to each contestant. This will be well communicated to all competitors. 

Please understand that GTB is prepared and determined to run every event as planned in 2022 plus put on extra events if necessary to be able to cater to all dancers committed to our events. The events that have opened are all locked in, staffed and prepped, the only thing that will stop us hosting an event is if the State Government restricts us. It is possible that we may be able to postpone certain events rather than resort to videos.

JUDGES AUDIO FEEDBACK

These will be placed into your dropbox folder (the same you will use for your music upload)

 

ARRIVAL

Doors will open approx 30 minutes to one hour before start time each day. Please check program and arrive a good time before your child is scheduled to dance.

 

VIEWING

Viewing for Solo/Duo/Trio comps are FREE, bring a cheer squad and cheer loud for your dancer!

 

PHOTOS/VIDEOS

These will all be instant and can be purchased at the event itself FOR MOST REGIONALS.

AWARDS PROCESS

We will have “mid-session” awards for larger age groups just for the sections, dancers will still need to come back at the end to collect overall awards if necessary.

New rule going forward – If you are not present for your awards – you do not receive them. Please nominate someone else to collect on your behalf, we will not go back through and find what you didn’t collect after awards have been completed on stage.

REGIONAL AWARDS SYSTEM
All solo sections: 1st place: Custom GTB Trophy, 2nd/3rd place: GTB Custom Mega Medal
4th place onwards (eg everyone else in the section): Custom GTB medallion to match awarded score ranking given by the judge
HIGH GOLD (0-80) PLATINUM (81-90) DBL PLATINUM (90-95) DIAMOND (95-100) (BLACK DIAMOND AWARDS ARE EXCLUSIVE TO GTB FINALS)

• HIGH GOLD will qualify you for Starz division at GTB Finals

• PLATINUM will qualify you for State Champs and also the National Finals Competition at GTB Finals

• DBL PLATINUM will qualify you for State Champs and also the National Finals Competition at GTB Finals plus the prestigious Champion of Champions

• DIAMOND will qualify you for State Champs and also the National Finals Competition at GTB Finals plus the prestigious Champion of Champions

TOP 5: If you make the Top 5 of your age group you qualify for TOP 5 DANCE OFF at GTB Finals + Champion of Champions (if not already qualified)
TOP 10: MAY qualify for Champion of Champions also – but only under Adjudicator discretion

If a dancer receives different score rankings for different solos (eg HIGH GOLD for Lyrical and PLATINUM for Tap) it will come down to the teachers discretion and consultation with GTB Directors as to what level to compete at finals.

All CHAMPION of CHAMPION qualifiers MUST enter the top level of competing at GTB FINALS

For Solos/Duos/Trios you will compete at Finals as at the age you first qualified and entered finals in the 2022 season (irrespective of age at next regional – unless you did not enter at the time of qualifying younger)

This is all written on the Certificates when you receive them.

 

FINALS QUALIFYING

Solos – to qualify for National sections, Dancer must receive a Platinum, Double Platinum or Diamond score and receive a Golden Ticket, or receive a Golden Ticket if the judge feels they can perform at Nationals. 
Duos/Trios – to qualify for Nationals, 1st-3rd finish is necessary
Groups – to qualify – 1st-5th finish is necessary and 1 for 1 qualifying is allowed, meaning if you qualify for 5 routines in groups you can enter 10 at Nationals.
