BELIEVE | GTB Dance

Welcome to Believe Dance Competition!

An idea brought to the Get The Beat family by the wonderful Tania Terminello, Believe is a novice, beginner, new-comer type event with the following restrictions on entry:

Novice - Enter this if you have not PLACED in a section of 5 or more dancers (in any competition) in 2022/23

Pre-Open - Enter this if you have not WON a section of 3 or more dancers (in any competition) in 2022/23

OTHER RULES/EXTENSION OF MAIN RULE

Novice Dancers must not enter a genre if they have placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd (in sections with 5 or more dancers) during 2022/2023, they can enter a genre they haven't placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd in - this is valid from ANY event they attend during this time (not just GTB/Supreme) This applies to the Believe Battle section as well, please do not attempt to cheat the system, teachers may be contacted for questionable entries - this is a NOVICE competition designed for Novice dancers.

YOU CANNOT ENTER THE SAME GENRE SOLO IN BOTH NOVICE AND PRE-OPEN (Please choose the relevant level for your solos
This competition will follow the exact same rules as Get The Beat (found here).
The age "cut off" will be the first day of the event
Novice/Beginner Sections at other competitions do not count for Rule #1

COMPETITION

AGE CUT OFF

The age you are on the first day of the competition.

BELIEVE BEGINNER

Any style, restricted to dancers that started competing with solos within 9 months of the comp start date. Can be a repeat dance.

GENERAL SOLO SECTIONS

Most Genres available, Remember if you have placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in any genre at any competition in 2022 and 2023 you cannot enter that genre in Novice, and if you have placed 1st you cannot enter that genre in Pre-Open.

Age Groups available - 4&U, 6&U, 8&U, 10&U, 12&U, 14&U, 16&U, 17+

BELIEVE BATTLE

Enter your favourite eligible solo for the Believe Battle section which will be run at the end of the event.

This solo MUST be a repeat of a solo you compete with in general solo sections. You can change the dance at the event as long as it has been performed in the solo rounds. This is combined Novice & Pre-Open.

BELIEVE BOOST - Judges Choice for a Dancer with Future Star ability

BELIEVE BALANCED - Judges Choice for a Dancer with all-around ability across genres

BELIEVE BEAUTY - Judges Choice for Beautiful expression and emotion within a piece

BELIEVE BLING - Judges Choice for exceptional costuming

GENERAL AWARDS

1ST = Trophy, 2ND/3RD = Large Medals,

All other dancers = Amazing Custom Believe award

Believe Battle winners - Fantastic Oversize Trophy

JUDGING

In no circumstances will scores be given out to Parents or dancers, each Dancer will receive a level outlined below:

Judge will score (in order to place sections)

BELIEVE AWARD - Score up to 80 marks

ACHIEVE AWARD - Score between 81-85 marks

AMAZE AWARD - Score between 86-90 marks

WINGS AWARD - Score over 91 marks - achieving this score (even without placing or winning) means the Judge believes you can move on from Novice competitions, congratulations!

HOW TO ENTER

Click the button below.

First Screen - Select the routines your child will be performing in.

Beginner Solo - can only perform once in this section

Novice Solo - available styles are Acro, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Musical Theatre/Broadway Jazz, Classical (Ballet or Demi), Song & Dance, Tap. Click the + symbol to the desired amount of solos you are entering.

Pre-Open Solo - Same as above plus "Own chorey" option

Battle Solo - can only perform one solo in this section, must be a repeat dance (you can choose the style on the day)

Duo/Trio - can only perform once in this section

Your dancer can perform in Novice and Pre-Open sections - eg Jazz in Pre-Open and Lyrical in Novice if that fits the rules...

YOU CANNOT ENTER THE SAME STYLE IN BOTH LEVELS (PRE-OPEN AND NOVICE) YOU MUST CHOOSE A LEVEL

Second Screen - Fill out the registration form.

Enter the dancer details

Select the Age Group - remember age is based as at first day of the event - the age the dancer is on that day, eg if 11 then should be in 12&U, if 8 - then 8&U etc etc

Select the styles - careful to match what you selected in etc previous screen, eg if you clicked on 4 solos, then only click on 4 styles.
